Valerie was a caring sister, a loving wife, and a thoughtful daughter. She loved plants, she loved animals, and she loved all around her. Her spirit shined as she cared and nurtured others while living stoically with Ehlers–Danlos syndrome. Soar high, Val, and be free.

Thoughts
You were always so full of life and quick to laugh. The oldest sister, the one who had to blaze the path that we each went down (you made it much easier for us!)
You found your true other half and he became a part of our family as if he had always been. You loved so completely.
To say you are missed.. or will be missed.. doesn't even scratch the surface of describing what I feel. You are a part of us all.

Candles
As the 11th anniversary of my sister's passing approaches on February 19, 2024, it is still difficult to imagine that she is no longer with us. She was my big sister. She taught me how to do makeup but I was never able to master it the way she did. She laughed and cried with me. She loved plants and they flourished. She loved animals and they thrived. She loved everyone around her and we all felt it. She was beautiful inside and out. As the years go by, she will always be remembered for being the loving, caring person she was.
